Happy Christmas Day!

With love of Family all around, we had a great Christmas. The Spirit of the day was spread out over a few days so we could see everyone and then enjoy our day at Home!...It is where ever the Heart is and we were blessed.
I was lucky to have in my stocking Jean Campbell's new book influenced by the Hollywood Stars of the Glamour days. Since I loved making costumes in my previous 'life', this is a great inspiration! We shall see what comes out first...earrings or a bracelet?!?!?

A Sunny Look

I just finished a new piece with Right Angle Weave. A fairly standard base, but with the new Sunflower color by Swarovski, then embellished with smaller crystals in Smoked Topaz AB and those cute little Lucite flowers...What could be more fun while waiting for Spring on this dreary SoCal rainy day.

a cold and wintry day in december...ha!

This is as cold as it gets in the desert of Southern California...51degrees and drizzly. Oh, a wonderful day to stay inside and bead! Working on a new title photo for this blog and have taken some great pics of the necklace I designed for my daughter's Wedding Day. They'll be up later today along with a bit of crystal bling in the new color by Swarovski...Sunflower! Bead Happy!

A new Start

So... I made a commitment to myself to begin this blogging process and add to it every Sunday morning at least! For a New Year's resolution I'm ahead of the game. First little history; I have been designing clothing and sewing professionally for over thirty years, since part of that was designing ice-skating costumes, beading just somehow entered the mix! When my children were young, they helped name the business (Sewfast Design) and so it seems a natural connection to follow with the Sewfast Beader! For the last five or six years I've been designing more and more jewellery and developing classes for my more inventive pieces. As always, there are so many beads and so little time! I look forward to more participation in the Bead Journal Project, specifically for 2011, blog#2 and following up on the is artistic promise to myself!
